Against the Madras High Court’s order to hand over the keys of the AIADMK headquarters to Edappadi Palaniswami. The Supreme Court of India dismissed the appeal filed by Panneerselvam.
Today, before the bench comprising Supreme Court Justice DY Chandra Sood and Hema Koli, O. The hearing of the appeal filed by Panneerselvam was held.
Then the Supreme Court judges upheld the judgment given by the Madras High Court last July regarding this issue.
“Revenue Commissioner has no power”
After listening to the arguments of all the parties, the judges announced that the Madras High Court order canceling the Revenue Kotachiar’s action to close and seal the AIADMK office and hand over the keys to the AIADMK head office to Edappadi Palaniswami.
The Supreme Court judges also pointed out that the Revenue Commissioner has no power to seal a party office under Section 145 of the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure.
Apart from this, the judges made it clear that today’s order of the Supreme Court will not have any impact on the matter if a legal case is filed by O. Panneerselvam in the Madras High Court regarding this matter in the coming days, and this judgment will not have any impact on the case regarding the AIADMK General Committee.
Then O. The Supreme Court judges dismissed the appeal of the Panneerselvam side and closed the case.

Kottakshiar came to AIADMK head office
Edappadi K. Palaniswami was elected as AIADMK Interim General Secretary at the AIADMK general committee meeting held in Chennai on July 11. O. Panneerselvam, who was the coordinator of the party, was expelled from the party in the same meeting. Earlier, O. Panneerselvam along with his supporters went to the party’s headquarters in Rayapetta before the start of the meeting.
His supporters broke open the locked office and entered. There was a clash between the supporters of Edappadi Palaniswami and O. Panneer Selvam who were there then.
As the place looked like a war zone, the government officials threw O. Panneerselvam out of the office and locked the door. Edappadi Palaniswami and O. Panneerselvam both sides approached the court claiming the right to the office. In this case, the keys were taken by K. The Madras High Court had ruled last July that it should be handed over to the Palaniswami side.
Opposed to that. Panneerselvam filed an appeal in the Supreme Court. It is in this case that the Supreme Court ruled on Monday.
