Maharashtra: Former Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry dies in road accident


Mumbai: Former Tata Group CEO Cyrus Mistry (54) has died in a road accident in Maharashtra today.

Cyrus Mistry was appointed as the Chairman of Tata Sons Group in 2012. Four years after this appointment, there was a conflict between Cyrus Mistry and the Tata Group. Thus Cyrus Mistry was removed from the post of Tata Group Chairman. This caused quite a stir.

Cases were fought in the courts between Cyrus Mistry and the Tata Group. At one point, Cyrus Mistry walked away from the Tata Group altogether.

Cyrus Mistry was traveling from Ahmedabad, Gujarat to Mumbai, Maharashtra in a car with 4 people. Then Cyrus Mistry’s car crashed into a divider.

In this accident, 2 people including Cyrus Mistry died on the spot. 2 others have been hospitalized in critical condition.
