A. R. Rahman named the street in honor of Canada “Still a long way to go” – Rahman

A street in Markham, Canada is named after Oscar winner AR Rahman.

Music composer A.R. Rahman expressed his gratitude for having a street named after him in Markham, Canada on his Twitter page, “I never thought of this in my life. Markham city, Canada Mayor Frank Scarbitti, Councillor, Indian Consul General (Apoorva Srivastava) and Canadian I am thankful to all of you people.

The name AR Rahman is not mine. It means compassionate. Compassion is a common God quality that we all have. Any person can only be a servant of the Merciful. So, may that name bring peace, prosperity, happiness and health to all the people living in Canada.

All the creators I worked with inspired me to rise. Celebrating the centenary of cinema and giving rise to legendary legends. I am a tiny drop in the ocean. I feel it gives me a huge responsibility to do more, to not get tired, not to retire, to do more and to be motivated. “Even though I may be tired, I will remember that I have more things to do, more people to connect with, more distance to cover,” he said.
