Villupuram: The court has allowed the CBCID to remand the 5 people arrested in the Kallakurichi student death case for one day. Private school principal Ravikumar, secretary Shanti and principal Sivashankar have been given one-day CBCID custody. Villupuram Criminal Judicial Magistrate Judge Pushparani has given permission to CBCID.

A plus 2 student studying in a private higher secondary school in Kaniyamur near Chinnasalem in Kallakurichi district died mysteriously on the 13th.

From the beginning, the parents had alleged that there was suspicion in the death of the student. As the school did not give proper response, the student’s parents were protesting by blocking the road and protesting. The ensuing protest turned into a riot.

The protestors smashed the objects in the school. They set the vehicles on fire. The certificate was also burnt. The incident caused a lot of property damage. CBCID police are currently investigating the case.

Those involved in the riots are being identified and arrested through CCTV footage. Earlier, the school principal Ravikumar, secretary Shanti, school principal Sivasankaran, chemistry teacher Haripriya and mathematics teacher Keerthika were arrested by the police in connection with the mysterious death of the student.

All of them were then produced in the court. Based on the court order, all 5 were lodged in Salem Central Jail for 15 days. Meanwhile, the CBCID police filed a petition in the Villupuram Chief Criminal Magistrate’s Court seeking permission to take the 5 arrested school administrators and teachers into custody for 3 days and interrogate them.
