Beijing: India has strongly opposed the plan of China and Pakistan to connect 3 countries in the Silk Road project.

China is one of the countries that is developing tremendously to challenge the superpower America.

At present, China has been hounding India, its only rival in South Asia, from time to time.

Indo-China border issue

The two most populous countries in the world have had a border dispute for a long time. From time to time, China encroaches on the Indian territory, builds a road and tries to do infrastructure works, and the Indian Army gives appropriate response to it. Not only border encroachment, but also economically, China is hurting India in many ways.

China’s dream project

China, which competes with America internationally, started its dream project called ‘Silk Road’ in 2013. This project, known as CPEC or North-South Economic Corridor, is being constructed to connect the Gwadar port in Pakistan’s Balochistan province from Xinjiang province, including road and reserve road. China will have an easier way to do business with this Silk Road project.

India strongly opposed

It is shorter than the current route, the South China Sea Route. Travel distance will be reduced by approximately 9 thousand km. Likewise, Pakistan is also said to get a lot of benefits from this project. The country is confident that industrial development will flourish as Pakistan’s infrastructure facilities improve. Since the route passes through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, the Indian government has been strongly opposed from the beginning. China-Pakistan decided in a consultative meeting held last Friday that interested 3rd countries can also join this 62 billion project. India has registered its strong opposition to this.

Illegal

In this regard, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arinda Bagachi told reporters, “Such activities under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project are completely illegal. This illegality is completely unacceptable. We are informed that it has been proposed that third-party countries can participate in the so-called CBEC project. “If any country engages in such activities, it will be a direct violation of India’s sovereignty and integrity,” he said.
